Visual control of the enterprises" inventory: what is where, what sells too quickly or too slowly. Who brings in what goods, what is of interest to the customers, and what assortment gaps there are. Truthful information in real time in a couple of clicks.
Goods selection panel is a basic tool for a PCM (Purchasing category manager) in dia$par.

The Goods Selection Panel

The data contained in this single screen form is sufficient for making an informed choice of the item needed and entering the correct price.

Each PCM can fully customize the view of the selection panel and the columns that will be visible. This requires no programmers" interference.
?Moreover, a PCM can have a whole set of panel view themes that can be used for different situations/needs (price overview, display of needs or scarcities, view for ordering from a specific supplier, etc.) or depending on the category displayed — one set of columns for laptops, another for cables.

The screenshot below only shows one example of a customized panel. In fact any information can be put on the list including price, mark-ups, sales velocity ( any set of regions), shelf stock, reservations for goods (any set of warehouses). The list can as well be filtered or/and sorted  by make, brand and properties. That is what beneath Filters, Prices and Columns tabs.

Prices. Checking a box in these matrices will add a new price or markup for the price zone and price column chosen:

Columns. Here you may check a box to add columns with data on competitors" prices, sales rates, and goods marginality taking into account the back margin, i.e. all the future rebates to be granted by the vendors for any region. For any warehouse or group of warehouses one can add columns with inventories, reserves, or receipts expected.

Columns

Customized separately are columns that show the sales network’s totals: the total goods physical inventory at all the warehouses, the clear balance, the reserve, the goods quantity expected from the suppliers, the minimal purchasing price, the aggregate sales rate and the need.
The TOTAL figure can be expanded by just double-clicking it to open a form with detailed data broken down by pricing area (sales rate), warehouse (inventory and reserves broken down by waybill), and supplier (supplies expected). The PCM can also display a goods item’s full supply history: suppliers, prices, quantities, and dates.

The information is provided the same way as for professional exchange traders: a maximum of needed information on one screen, which permits instant assessment of the situation and a prompt decision.

  • Then one can press just one button to form a draft list of the goods needed, based on:
    • the current inventory;
    • the goods quantity already ordered from the suppliers;
    • the goods quantity being checked in;
    • the quantity in transit; and
    • the sales rate for the given number of days ahead.
    Then the PCM will work (thoughtfully) with the list of the goods required and adjust it if need be.
  • Assess the movement of demand; dia$par shows the sales rates (per week) based on the last week’s or two, three, or four weeks" statistics. The sales calculations take into account only those days on which the goods item was available at the warehouse.
  • See the goods popularity data from Yandex.Market, sort the goods by popularity, and see the popularity movement. A shortcut will open any goods of interest on their Yandex.Market page.
    Yandex.Market Data
  • See the competitors" prices broken down by region. See one’s own prices and compare them with competition. Benchmark competitors are linked to in the system’s settings. Colour highlighting will instantly point out positions whose prices differ from competition by more than a preset threshold. The competitors" prices can also be tracked via the My price service — buyers" reports on competitors" lower prices will reach the goods category manager directly.
  • Edit the price/markup for any region, which will change instantly on the website and become downloadable on trade floors. There is functionality for changing multiple price parameters at a time — a set of goods selected for their properties, just box-checked ones, or all the goods in a category.
  • See/set the goods distribution pattern, e.g. whether it is a goods item that must be available at each shop, a new goods item, or one available from the distribution warehouse to orders placed in advance.
  • See any goods that turn around slower than required (colour highlighted). dia$par will instantly display such goods" supply, inventory, and sales history and thus prompt a decision. If the PCM tries to purchase more of such goods, dia$par will warn him/her of the hung goods risk.
  • Select the required goods and list their allied products. The latter offering will automatically appear on the website.
  • In some cases, understand whchgoods is in question at all. For example, one manufacturer’s laptops may include dozens of models, and a minor error may mean the wrong item purchased. dia$par will be sure to correctly form the goods" name based on its key characteristics. The list of the goods shown on the form can be easily filtered by any characteristics for an in-depth analysis.
  • See how the goods is evaluated by visitors to the site — the average score and feedback on the goods provided directly from the selection form, without opening the website.

From the selection panel, the PCM can personally manage the display of his/her goods category on the website. The list of the goods" characteristics and those that buyers can quickly filter on the website is set in the desktop interface.

A goods item’s new characteristic is added instantly: one adds it for a goods category, indicates its possible values, uses group goods processing to read its required values in for all the goods — and, voilà, the characteristic will appear automatically on the website, and new goods will be described in the new manner.

We omit the description of less obvious and important conveniences.

In general, the above functionality aims to address two tasks:

  • minimize the time it takes the PCM to perform routine operations, usually so numerous in his work;
  • structure and visualize information so that decisions on purchase volumes
    and exit pricing can be taken both quickly and correctly.

We point out once again that the settings of the PCM Flight Control Centre (and even some functionality features) as shown on the screenshots are customized to suit the specific needs of an individual enterprise.
The outcome adjusted to fit the needs of your business may well differ a lot visually and functionally, but NOT in terms of convenience and efficiency.

Forward, towards Supplier Exchange!
